AN ACT CONCERNING THE USE OF FEDERAL FUNDS FOR THE SHELTERING OF LOST ANIMALS FOLLOWING SEVERE WEATHER EMERGENCIES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
Section 1. (NEW) (Effective from passage) Notwithstanding any provision of the general statutes, the sheltering of animals by a municipality following a severe weather event emergency shall be deemed a reimbursable expense for the purpose of distributing federal funds received in connection with such a severe weather emergency.
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections: | ||

Statement of Purpose:
To reimburse towns for the cost of sheltering lost animals following severe weather emergencies like Hurricane Sandy.
