AN ACT CONCERNING AUDITS BY THE STATE ELECTIONS ENFORCEMENT COMMISSION.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 9-7b of the general statutes be amended to exempt from random audit by the State Elections Enforcement Commission candidate committees that do not participate in the Citizens' Election Program and that receive contributions, or make expenditures, in an aggregate amount up to five thousand dollars, except that said commission may audit any such candidate committee upon written complaint filed with said commission.
Statement of Purpose:
To eliminate certain State Elections Enforcement Commission audits for candidate committees that raise or spend five thousand or fewer dollars.
