AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE USE OF A PROXY WHEN FILING NOMINATING PAPERWORK FOR CERTAIN POLITICAL OFFICES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That subsection (c) of section 9-391 of the general statutes be amended to authorize a candidate for any municipal office for which monetary compensation is not provided to designate a proxy who may sign the certificate required to be filed with the Secretary of the State on behalf of the candidate.
Statement of Purpose:
To allow candidates for uncompensated municipal offices to designate a proxy for the completion of nominating paperwork.
