AN ACT SETTING LIMITS ON NUTRITIONAL ASSISTANCE FOR CERTAIN ABLE-BODIED ADULTS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That section 17b-105a of the general statutes be amended to prevent able-bodied adults without dependents from receiving supplemental nutrition assistance for more than three months unless they work not less than twenty hours a week, participate in a federally qualified work training plan, or meet federal workfare requirements.

Statement of Purpose:

To ensure persons capable of working or volunteering do not indefinitely receive supplemental nutrition assistance.
