AN ACT CONCERNING CERTIFICATION FOR OUT-OF-STATE TEACHERS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That chapter 166 of the general statutes be amended to require the Department of Education to develop alternate means by which teachers who are certified in another state may be certified in Connecticut without having to achieve a satisfactory evaluation on the appropriate State Board of Education approved subject area assessment.
Statement of Purpose:
To allow teachers that have been certified in another state to obtain certification in Connecticut without having to pass the Praxis test.
