AN ACT CONCERNING BENEFITS FOR TOTALLY AND PERMANENTLY DISABLED VETERANS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to (1) provide the following benefits to veterans with a one hundred per cent service-connected total and permanent disability rating: (A) Scholarship opportunities for such veterans' dependent children and spouses; (B) a disabled veteran identification card, for use as proof of eligibility for certain state benefits; (C) exemption from fees for a motor vehicle operator's license and identity card; (D) a disabled veteran number plate for an owned or leased vehicle; (E) exemption from municipal building license or permit fees when making certain improvements to such veteran's residence; (F) exemption for five years from state hunting and fishing license fees, and (2) allow municipalities to provide for similar types of benefits to such veterans.

Statement of Purpose:

To expand benefits for certain veterans with a one hundred per cent service-connected total and permanent disability rating.
