AN ACT CONCERNING ACQUISITION OF PHYSICIAN PRACTICES BY INSURERS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That chapter 368v of the general statutes be amended to require a physician's practice to receive approval from the Commissioner of Public Health and the Attorney General pursuant to sections 19a-486a to 19a-486h, inclusive, of the general statutes before entering into an agreement with an insurer to transfer a material amount of its assets or operations or a change in control of operations to the insurer.
Statement of Purpose:
To require an insurer's acquisition of a physician's practice to be approved by the Commissioner of Public Health and the Attorney General.
