AN ACT REQUIRING PHARMACIES TO VERIFY THE IDENTITY OF PERSONS MAKING TELEPHONIC PRESCRIPTION REQUESTS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
Section 1. (NEW) (Effective July 1, 2012) A pharmacy shall not accept a telephonic request for the dispensing of a prescription unless a duly authorized agent of such pharmacy verifies the person making such request is a prescribing practitioner authorized pursuant to chapter 400j of the general statutes to make such requests.
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections: | ||

Statement of Purpose:
To require pharmacies to verify the identity of persons making prescription requests.
