AN ACT CONCERNING STATE MARSHALS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
Section 1. (NEW) (Effective October 1, 2014) A state marshal, while exercising authority granted under any provisions of the general statutes, shall be allowed entry into a judicial facility without submitting to the security measures developed by the Judicial Department for use by the public to gain entrance into the judicial facility. Such state marshal shall present a badge or other form of identification that identifies him or her as a state marshal to gain entrance into the judicial facility. For purposes of this section, "security measures" includes, but is not limited to, a walk-through metal detector or a portable or hand-held metal detector.
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections: | ||

Statement of Purpose:
To allow a state marshal, when performing his or her duties, access to a judicial facility without passing through security measures used for the general public.
