AN ACT CONCERNING HOUSING FOR VETERANS AND ACTIVE DUTY MILITARY PERSONNEL.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
Section 1. (Effective October 1, 2016) The Commissioner of Housing, in consultation with the Commissioner of Veterans' Affairs, shall (1) conduct a study to identify various programs and services offered through state agencies dedicated to assisting the veteran and active duty military populations in this state in finding and securing safe and affordable housing options, and (2) make recommendations to any such agency concerning allocation of any available resources of such agency. The commissioners shall report, in accordance with the provisions of section 11-4a of the general statutes, the findings of the study described in subdivision (1) of this section to the joint standing committees of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to housing and veterans' and military affairs on or before January 1, 2017.
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections: | ||

Statement of Purpose:
To require the Commissioner of Housing and the Commissioner of Veterans' Affairs to study state programs and services dedicated to assisting veteran and active duty members of the armed forces in this state and make recommendations to state agencies concerning allocation of resources.
