AN ACT EXPANDING MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES TO VETERANS AND MEMBERS OF THE ARMED FORCES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to require the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, in conjunction with the Department of Veterans' Affairs, to increase state resources to better identify through screening programs the mental health needs of the state's active duty soldiers and veterans and to provide increased assistance where needed.
Statement of Purpose:
To provide support for soldiers and veterans by establishing a safety net of services to help with their transition from the military to civilian life.
