AN ACT LOWERING THE EXCESS COST THRESHOLD FOR SPECIAL EDUCATION AND FULL REIMBURSEMENT FOR SPECIAL EDUCATION COSTS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That subsection (b) of section 10-76g of the general statutes be amended to reduce the reimbursement threshold for special education costs from four and one-half times the average per pupil cost to three times the average per pupil cost and remove the cap so that the grant will be fully funded.
Statement of Purpose:
To revise the manner in which school districts receive reimbursement under the special education excess cost grant.
