AN ACT CONCERNING INFLATION AND THE PREVAILING WAGE THRESHOLD.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 31-53 of the general statutes be amended to immediately increase the threshold amount for public works projects required to abide by prevailing wage laws to one million dollars for both new construction and remodeling and to provide a mechanism to adjust the prevailing wage standards in order to keep pace with the rate of inflation.
Statement of Purpose:
To provide immediate financial relief to the state and municipalities by increasing the current prevailing wage threshold and to ensure that the prevailing wage threshold keeps pace with future inflation rates.
