AN ACT REQUIRING THAT A MECHANIC'S LIEN BE BASED ON A WRITTEN CONTRACT.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That section 49-33 of the general statutes be amended to provide that no mechanic's lien shall attach under said section for materials furnished or services rendered unless the mechanic's lien is based on a written agreement.

Statement of Purpose:

To eliminate mechanic's liens based on verbal agreements.
