AN ACT CONCERNING THE ADMINISTRATION OF MEDICATION BY UNLICENSED PERSONNEL IN RESIDENTIAL CARE HOMES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 19a-495a of the general statutes be amended to repeal the Department of Public Health's authority to implement policies and procedures concerning the use of unlicensed personnel to administer medications in residential care homes, and instead require that the department adopt regulations in accordance with chapter 54 of the general statutes to administer the provisions of the section.
Statement of Purpose:
To ensure that unlicensed personnel who are permitted to administer medication in residential care homes receive adequate training.
