AN ACT INCREASING THE CURRENT THRESHOLD AMOUNTS THAT REQUIRE CONTRACTORS TO ABIDE BY PREVAILING WAGE LAWS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That section 31-53 of the general statutes be amended to increase the threshold amounts for public works projects required to abide by the prevailing wage laws to eight hundred thousand for new construction and two hundred thousand for remodeling.

Statement of Purpose:

To provide local tax relief by doubling the current threshold amounts that determine when public works projects must abide by prevailing wage laws.
