AN ACT CONCERNING ELECTRONIC PRICING SYSTEMS AND THE SALE OF ALCOHOLIC LIQUOR.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to prohibit the sale of alcoholic liquor using an electronic pricing system unless such system requires the seller to verify that the purchaser is at least twenty-one years of age and to define "electronic pricing system" as a system that uses a universal product coding bar code scanner and cash register to record and total a customer's purchase.
Statement of Purpose:
To require verification of a purchaser's age when alcoholic liquor is purchased using an electronic pricing system.
