AN ACT CONCERNING CONFLICTS OF INTEREST FOR REGISTRARS OF VOTERS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That title 9 of the general statutes be amended to require a registrar of voters in Hartford, Bridgeport or New Haven, who campaigns for a seat on a town committee, recuse himself or herself from their duties as registrar during the town committee election campaigns.
Statement of Purpose:
To prevent a conflict of interest in the registrar of voters' office during a town committee election.
