AN ACT CONCERNING THE SHORTAGE OF NURSES IN CONNECTICUT.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That chapter 378 of the general statutes be amended to require the Department of Public Health to issue a registered nurse license without examination pursuant to section 20-94 of the general statutes, or a licensed practical nurse license without examination pursuant to section 20-97 of the general statutes, to a nurse holding a substantially equivalent license or certificate in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, provided such nurse has actively practiced and maintained good standing in Puerto Rico for not less than five years.
Statement of Purpose:
To require the Department of Public Health to provide Connecticut nursing licenses to experienced nurses licensed or certified in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
