AN ACT PROHIBITING ANY PERSON CONVICTED OF DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF INTOXICATING LIQUOR (DUI) FROM OPERATING A MOTOR VEHICLE UNLESS SUCH VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH AN IGNITION LOCK.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to provide that no person who has been convicted of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of intoxicating liquor shall operate a motor vehicle unless such motor vehicle is equipped with an ignition lock.

Statement of Purpose:

To prevent a person from committing multiple DUI offenses.
