AN ACT CONCERNING THE PROVISION OF ASSISTED OUTPATIENT TREATMENT TO A PERSON WITH MENTAL ILLNESS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That chapter 801a of the general statutes be amended to provide that a probate court may require a person with a mental illness, who has a demonstrated history of medication noncompliance, and who is chronically or gravely disabled, incapable of making an informed medical decision or a danger to others to undergo assisted outpatient treatment.
Statement of Purpose:
To provide the probate court with the authority to order assisted outpatient treatment for a person with mental illness in certain limited circumstances.
