AN ACT REQUIRING PAID LEAVE FOR MEMBERS OF VETERANS' ORGANIZATIONS WHO PERFORM SERVICES IN AN HONOR GUARD DETAIL.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That part II of chapter 557 and part VII of chapter 504 of the general statutes be amended to provide that an employer shall grant any employee who is a member of a bona fide Connecticut state veterans' organization, such as a local post of the American Legion or the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States, paid leave to serve as part of an honor guard detail at the funeral of a deceased person who served in the armed forces of the United States.
Statement of Purpose:
To make it easier for any member of a veterans' organizations to serve in an honor guard detail at the funeral of a deceased member of the United States armed forces.
