AN ACT REQUIRING STATE AND MUNICIPAL POLICE OFFICERS TO PROVIDE NOTICE OF INOPERATIVE LIGHTS ON THE STATE HIGHWAY.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That chapters 236, 243 and 529 of the general statutes be amended to require state and municipal police officers who discover inoperative lights along state highways to provide notice of such inoperative lights to the Department of Transportation, if such light is along a state highway, or to the superintendent of highways and bridges or other appropriate official of the town in which such light is located, if such light is along a local street or road.
Statement of Purpose:
To improve public safety by facilitating the prompt replacement of inoperative lights along Connecticut streets and roads.
