AN ACT CONCERNING A DEFINED CONTRIBUTION RETIREMENT PLAN FOR CERTAIN NEWLY-HIRED STATE AND MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to require all newly-hired state and municipal employees who will participate in a state-administered pension plan to be enrolled in a defined contribution benefit plan rather than the current defined benefit system.
Statement of Purpose:
To achieve financial relief on pension burdens by requiring certain newly-hired state and municipal employees to participate in a defined contribution pension plan.
