AN ACT CONCERNING SITING COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS AND DECISIONS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to provide that the Connecticut Siting Council shall not grant a certificate of environmental compatibility and public need, either as proposed by an applicant or as modified by the council, for the construction or modification of a facility without considering the manufacturer's recommended safety standards for any related equipment, machinery or technology.
Statement of Purpose:
To include a manufacturer's recommended safety standards among the considerations taken into account by the siting council prior to issuance of a certificate of environmental compatibility and public need.
