AN ACT ELIMINATING GRANTS FROM THE CITIZENS' ELECTION FUND TO UNOPPOSED CANDIDATES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That chapter 157 of the general statutes be amended to provide that no funds may be granted under the Citizens' Election Program to any candidate running unopposed for elective office.
Statement of Purpose:
To conserve public funds by prohibiting grants under the Citizens' Election Program to unopposed candidates seeking elective office.
