AN ACT ELIMINATING CITIZENS' ELECTION PROGRAM GRANTS TO UNOPPOSED CANDIDATES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That chapter 157 of the general statutes be amended to prohibit any unopposed candidate seeking elective office from receiving a grant under the Citizens' Election Program.
Statement of Purpose:
To prevent the grant of moneys from the Citizens' Election Fund to candidates without an opponent.
