AN ACT REQUIRING MUNICIPAL APPROVAL OF CHANGES TO RAIL SERVICE.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That chapter 243 of the general statutes be amended to require that, prior to the Department of Transportation changing commuter rail services in the state, the municipality impacted by such change shall hold a referendum to approve such change.
Statement of Purpose:
To require a municipality to hold a referendum to approve the decision of the Department of Transportation to change rail service if such change impacts the municipality.
