AN ACT CONCERNING A CAP ON PROPERTY TAX INCREASES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to create a cap on the amount that property taxes may be increased in any given year. Such cap could be exceeded upon the affirmative vote of two-thirds of the members of the local legislative body or by referendum.

Statement of Purpose:

To limit increases in property taxes.
