AN ACT CREATING A PILOT CONSERVATORSHIP PROGRAM FOR PERSONS WITH MENTAL DISABILITIES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That title 17b of the general statutes be amended to create a pilot program in which (1) the Department of Social Services establishes a dedicated ombudsman to assist conservators in identifying mentally ill persons in need of assistance, (2) the Hartford Probate Court conducts a conservator training program, and (3) the department and court create a fee schedule for conservators and share in the cost of the program.
Statement of Purpose:
To assist mentally ill persons by expanding the use of conservatorships.
