AN ACT CONCERNING THE CHARTER OAK HEALTH PLAN.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That title 17b of the general statutes be amended to specify that the Charter Oak Health Plan established pursuant to section 17b-311 of the general statutes is a health program offered by the state and not an insurance plan so participants are not required to wait an additional six months after terminating such plan before being eligible to join the high risk health insurance pool program established pursuant to Section 1101 of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, P.L. 111-148.
Statement of Purpose:
To specify that the Charter Oak Health Plan established pursuant to section 17b-311 of the general statutes is a health program offered by the state and not an insurance plan so participants are not required to wait an additional six months after terminating such plan before being eligible to join the high risk health insurance pool program established pursuant to Section 1101 of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, P.L. 111-148.
