AN ACT CONCERNING PROPERTY TAX RELIEF FOR SENIOR AND DISABLED HOMEOWNERS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That chapter 204a of the general statutes be amended to expand municipal authority to grant property tax relief to elderly and disabled homeowners and to exempt any existing or future liens associated with such property tax relief from the fifteen-year time limit generally applicable to municipal tax liens pursuant to section 12-175 of the general statutes.
Statement of Purpose:
To give towns greater authority to offer property tax relief to senior and disabled homeowners.
