AN ACT CONCERNING STATE CONTRACTS AND A PREFERENCE FOR IN-STATE EMPLOYEES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That section 4e-48 of the general statutes be amended to require state agencies to give resident bidders a five per cent preference in the awarding of contracts provided at least ninety per cent of such resident's bidders employees are residents of the state.

Statement of Purpose:

To increase in-state employment.
