AN ACT PERMITTING THE INSTALLATION OF SECURITY CAMERAS TO THE EXTERIOR OF UNITS LOCATED IN A COMMON INTEREST COMMUNITY OR PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENT.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That: (1) Section 47-261b of the general statutes be amended to prohibit the association of a common interest community from adopting or enforcing any rule that prevents a unit owner from installing a security camera to the exterior of his or her condominium unit, and (2) title 8 of the general statutes be amended to prohibit the board of a planned unit development from adopting or enforcing any rule that prevents a unit owner from installing a security camera to the exterior of his or her unit.
Statement of Purpose:
To prohibit associations and board of common interest communities and planned unit developments from enacting rules which prohibit the installation of security cameras to the exterior of a unit.
