AN ACT CONCERNING PROSECUTION OF MILITARY SEXUAL ASSAULT CHARGES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to require, for sexual assault cases in which the accused is a member of the Connecticut National Guard or naval militia, that local civilian authorities' claims to prosecutorial jurisdiction are senior to jurisdictional claims of the Military Department.
Statement of Purpose:
To protect victims of sexual assault in a manner similar to that set forth in California Senate Bill 1422.
