AN ACT CONCERNING FIRST RESPONDERS TO THE SANDY HOOK TRAGEDY AND WORKERS' COMPENSATION BENEFITS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to create a limited exception allowing first responders present at the Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy to collect workers' compensation benefits if they are unable to perform their duties due to emotional distress or post-traumatic stress.
Statement of Purpose:
To allow the first responders to the Sandy Hook school tragedy to receive workers' compensation benefits if they suffer from severe emotional distress or Post-Traumatic Stress Syndrome.
