AN ACT REQUIRING HEALTH INSURER REIMBURSEMENT FOR MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES PROVIDED TO CERTAIN CHILDREN AND YOUTH.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to require health insurers to reimburse the state for mental health services provided to children and youths who (1) receive such services under the voluntary services program operated by the Department of Children and Families, (2) are insured by such health insurers, and (3) were denied coverage by such health insurers for such mental health services.

Statement of Purpose:

To require health insurers to reimburse the state for mental health services provided to certain children and youths who were denied coverage by such health insurers for such mental health services.
