AN ACT CONCERNING INMATE MEDICATIONS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That chapter 325 of the general statutes be amended to provide that the Department of Correction shall ensure that all medications prescribed to treat chronic conditions of persons prior to their incarceration be continued upon such person's admittance to a correctional facility and that all medications prescribed for an incarcerated person which, if missed, may cause serious illness, death or other harmful effects be given to such person in a timely manner.

Statement of Purpose:

To ensure that persons receive their correct medications while incarcerated.
