AN ACT PROMOTING STATE BUSINESSES THROUGH THE CREATION OF AN E-COMMERCE INTERNET WEB SITE.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to (1) establish a quasi-public agency to implement a pilot program to develop, manage and assist the state's businesses through the creation of an e-commerce Internet web site to (A) promote state businesses, (B) offer such businesses' goods and services for sale, and (C) accept advertising, and (2) distribute a portion of the revenue created from such web site to participating municipalities.
Statement of Purpose:
To create a new ongoing source of revenue other than taxation and to help local businesses to reach a global market.
