AN ACT ESTABLISHING AN ANIMAL ABUSER REGISTRY.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to establish an animal abuser registry and to require any person convicted of cruelty to animals in violation of section 53-247 of the general statutes to register such person's name and other identifying information for inclusion in the registry.
Statement of Purpose:
To reduce animal abuse by allowing animal shelters to screen potential adopters of animals.
