Substitute Senate Bill No. 992
AN ACT CONCERNING MEMBERS OF A MEDICAL FOUNDATION.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
Section 1. (NEW) (Effective from passage) Notwithstanding the provisions of chapter 594b of the general statutes, a stock corporation organized under chapter 601 of the general statutes, or any predecessor statutes thereto, or a foreign stock corporation or nonstock corporation, foreign limited partnership or foreign limited liability company authorized to transact business or conduct affairs under chapter 601, 602, 610 or 613 of the general statutes, or any predecessor statutes thereto, that is a party to a letter of intent with (1) Greater Waterbury Health Network, Inc. , (2) Bristol Hospital and Health Care Group, Inc. , or (3) a hospital or health system, other than Greater Waterbury Health Network, Inc. and Bristol Hospital and Health Care Group, Inc. , that has entered into a letter of intent on or before August 1, 2013, may be a member of a medical foundation and operate for profit.
