HOUSE BILL NO. 69

AN ACT TO AMEND TITLE 29 OF THE DELAWARE CODE RELATING TO THE MERIT SYSTEM OF PERSONNEL ADMINISTRATION.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF DELAWARE:

Section 1. Amend §5933, Title 29 of the Delaware Code by making insertions as shown by underlining as follows:

(f) The rules shall provide that for every 3 years after 15 years of state service an employee shall receive an additional 1 hour per month of annual leave.

(g) The rules shall provide that upon the death of an immediate family member, employees shall be granted the equivalent of 5 working days of compassionate leave.

SYNOPSIS

This bill provides that for every 3 years of state service after 15 years an employee shall receive an additional 1 hour per month of annual leave.It also increases from 3 to 5 days the amount of compassionate leave an employee will receive upon the death of an immediate family member.
