SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 1
PROVIDING FOR A JOINT SESSION OF THE SENATE AND THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES FOR THE PURPOSE OF ANNOUNCING THE VOTE FOR GOVERNOR AND LT. GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF DELAWARE.
WHEREAS, § 3 of Article III of the Delaware Constitution requires that the returns of the election for Governor be opened and published in the presence of the members of both Houses of the General Assembly, and § 5709(a)(3) of Title 15 of the Delaware Code requires the same be done for the returns of the election for Lieutenant Governor.
NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Delaware, the House of Representatives concurring therein, that the Senate and House of Representatives meet in Joint Session on Thursday, January 14, 2021, at 2:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as may be convenient, for the purpose of announcing the vote for Governor and Lt. Governor of the State of Delaware at the last general election held on November 3, 2020.
SYNOPSIS
This Concurrent Resolution provides for a Joint Session of the Senate and the House of Representatives to be convened for the purpose of announcing the vote for Governor and Lieutenant Governor of the State of Delaware.
