SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 41 |
COMMEMORATING THE OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENTS AND CONTRIBUTIONS MADE BY UNITED CEREBRAL PALSY OF DELAWARE, INC. |
WHEREAS, United Cerebral Palsy of Delaware, Inc. (UCP) is celebrating over 50 years of serving communities; and
WHEREAS, cconcerned individuals and parents of children with cerebral palsy established United Cerebral Palsy ofDelaware, Inc. (UCP) in 1953; and
WHEREAS, United Cerebral Palsy has expanded its capabilities by providing programs and services to people with all types of orthopedic disabilities, including spina bifida and muscular dystrophy; and
WHEREAS, United Cerebral Palsy provides a variety of social, residential, recreational and educational programs, as well as referral, advocacy and respite care services to over 600 clients and their families throughout New Castle, Kent and Sussex counties; and
WHEREAS, Summer Camps including Camp Manito and Camp Lenape instituted by United Cerebral Palsy provide an enriched program for campers with disabilities promoting the campers' independence while building their self-esteem; and
WHEREAS, United Cerebral Palsy acknowledges the accomplishments of student-athletes who have overcome obstacles intheir lives to participate in sports
WHEREAS, this Resolution recognizes the efforts of United Cerebral Palsy including supporting the empowerment, inclusive education and productive employment of people with disabilities; and
WHEREAS, this Resolution commends United Cerebral Palsy for advocating for the rights of people with disabilities; and
WHEREAS, the smiles on the faces of disabled children, youth and adults achieving success are priceless;
NOW, THEREFORE:
BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the 147th General Assembly of the State of Delaware, the House of Representatives concurring therein, that members do hereby express their appreciation for all that United Cerebral Palsy, Inc. has done, and will continue to do, to secure a better quality of life for the disabled children, youth and adults of the State of Delaware.
