House . . . . . ————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————— ————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————— Appropriations Subcommittee on Education (Ring) recommended the following: 1 Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 2 3 Delete lines 130 - 187 4 and insert: 5 (16) The commission shall deny a renewal of an annual 6 license for an institution whose federal student loan cohort 7 default rate exceeds the threshold established in s. 8 1005.04(1)(d). 9 Section 3. Present paragraph (e) of subsection (1) of 10 section 1005.32, Florida Statutes, is redesignated as paragraph 11 (f), and a new paragraph (e) is added to that subsection, to 12 read: 13 1005.32 Licensure by means of accreditation.— 14 (1) An independent postsecondary educational institution 15 that meets the following criteria may apply for a license by 16 means of accreditation from the commission: 17 (e) The institution’s federal student loan cohort default 18 rate, as calculated by the United States Department of 19 Education, does not exceed the threshold established in s. 20 1005.04(1)(d). 21 22 ================= T I T L E A M E N D M E N T ================ 23 And the title is amended as follows: 24 Delete lines 21 - 35 25 and insert: 26 cohort default rate exceeds a specified threshold; 27 amending s. 1005.32, F.S.; revising the minimum 28 criteria for an independent postsecondary educational 29 institution to apply for a license by accreditation to 30 include a maximum threshold for the institution’s 31 federal student loan cohort default rate; providing an 32 effective date.
