       The Committee on Children, Families, and Elder Affairs (Altman)
       recommended the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment

    3         Delete lines 41 - 49
    4  and insert:
    5  confidential and exempt records as follows:
    6         (a) to a person engaged in a bona fide research if that
    7  person agrees to sign a confidentiality agreement with the
    8  regional autism center, agrees to maintain the confidentiality
    9  of the information received, and to the extent permitted by law
   10  and after the research has concluded, destroy any confidential
   11  information obtained.
   12         5. (b) The director of the center or his or her designee
   13  may release information for statistical and research purposes by
   14  the director of the center or designee, provided that any
