3 | purposes; amending s. 1009.21, F.S.; providing that |
4 | veterans of the Armed Services of the United States, |
5 | including reserve components thereof, who attend the |
6 | physical location of a public college, university, or |
7 | institution of higher learning within the state are |
8 | residents for tuition purposes; providing an effective |
9 | date. |

11 | Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: |

13 | Section 1. Present paragraphs (c) through (k) of |
14 | subsection (10) of section 1009.21, Florida Statutes, are |
15 | redesignated as paragraphs (d) through (l), respectively, and a |
16 | new paragraph (c) is added to that subsection, to read: |
17 | 1009.21 Determination of resident status for tuition |
18 | purposes.-Students shall be classified as residents or |
19 | nonresidents for the purpose of assessing tuition in |
20 | postsecondary educational programs offered by charter technical |
21 | career centers or career centers operated by school districts, |
22 | in Florida College System institutions, and in state |
23 | universities. |
24 | (10) The following persons shall be classified as |
25 | residents for tuition purposes: |
26 | (c) Veterans of the Armed Services of the United States, |
27 | including reserve components thereof, who attend the physical |
28 | location of a public college, university, or institution of |
29 | higher learning within the state. |
30 | Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2012. |
