14 | Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: |

16 | Section 1. Section 1006.671, Florida Statutes, is created |
17 | to read: |
18 | 1006.671 Victim advocate services.-Each postsecondary |
19 | educational institution shall provide an advocate to aid |
20 | students who are victims of violent crime. The victim advocate |
21 | must have completed at least 30 hours of victim advocacy |
22 | training and shall enlist the assistance of public and voluntary |
23 | health, education, welfare, and rehabilitation agencies or |
24 | groups and law enforcement agencies in coordinating services. An |
25 | advocate must be made available on any campus that provides |
26 | student housing or has 10,000 or more full-time students. |
27 | Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2010. |
