Florida Senate - 2020 (NP) SR 36 By Senator Book 32-00101-20 202036__ 1 Senate Resolution 2 A resolution commending the trauma care teams at 3 Broward Health Medical Center and Broward Health North 4 for their heroic response to the mass shooting at 5 Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School and recognizing 6 Broward Health for its commitment to promoting 7 preparedness for mass casualty incidents. 8 9 WHEREAS, on February 14, 2018, the Level I Trauma Center at 10 Broward Health Medical Center and the Level II Trauma Center at 11 Broward Health North activated their mass casualty trauma care 12 teams in response to the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman 13 Douglas High School in Parkland, saving the lives of 13 14 individuals and returning them to their families, and 15 WHEREAS, the Level I Trauma Center at Broward Health 16 Medical Center and the Level II Trauma Center at Broward Health 17 North strive to foster the most clinically proficient and highly 18 skilled critical care by surgeons and trauma care teams, setting 19 an example for communities nationwide, and 20 WHEREAS, all Floridians are grateful for the quick action 21 of the many selfless medical professionals who cared for the 22 injured, and 23 WHEREAS, it is essential that Broward Health Medical Center 24 and Broward Health North be recognized for the value and 25 accomplishments of their trauma centers and their trauma care 26 teams, which consist of dedicated men and women who save lives 27 and respond both to traumatic injuries and mass casualty 28 incidents, NOW, THEREFORE, 29 30 Be It Resolved by the Senate of the State of Florida: 31 32 That the members of the Senate commend the trauma care 33 teams at the Level I Trauma Center at Broward Health Medical 34 Center and the Level II Trauma Center at Broward Health North 35 for their heroic response to the mass shooting at Marjory 36 Stoneman Douglas High School and recognize Broward Health for 37 its commitment to promoting preparedness for mass casualty 38 incidents, and 39 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this resolution, with 40 the Seal of the Senate affixed, be presented to the Level I 41 Trauma Center at Broward Health Medical Center, the Level II 42 Trauma Center at Broward Health North, and Broward Health as 43 tangible tokens of the sentiments of the Florida Senate.
