    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to the Florida Kidcare program;
    3         repealing s. 409.814(4)(c), F.S., relating to
    4         eligibility for the Florida Kidcare program; repealing
    5         a provision that prohibits certain children who are
    6         not qualified aliens from participating in the
    7         program; amending s. 624.91, F.S.; conforming a cross
    8         reference; providing an effective date.

   10  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   11  
   12         Section 1. Paragraph (c) of subsection (4) of section
   13  409.814, Florida Statutes, is repealed.
   14         Section 2. Paragraph (b) of subsection (3) of section
   15  624.91, Florida Statutes, is amended to read:
   16         624.91 The Florida Healthy Kids Corporation Act.—
   17         (3) ELIGIBILITY FOR STATE-FUNDED ASSISTANCE.—Only the
   18  following individuals are eligible for state-funded assistance
   19  in paying Florida Healthy Kids premiums:
   20         (b) Notwithstanding s. 409.814, Legal aliens who are
   21  enrolled in the Florida Healthy Kids program as of January 31,
   22  2004, who do not qualify for Title XXI federal funds because
   23  they are not qualified aliens as defined in s. 409.811.
   24         Section 3. This act shall take effect July 1, 2013.
